Sep 20, 2019 You can now play Spotify Music – for Android TV for PC on a desktop/laptop running Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1, Windows 10 and MacOS/OS X. This can easily be done with the help of BlueStacks or Andy OS Android emulator. With Spotify for TV, you can enjoy all the music and podcasts you love, right here on the big screen.

- Look for the app in your Downloads folder and double-click it. Continue through the installation steps. Log in and enjoy the music! If you're unable to download the app, you can play music from your browser using our web player. Mobile and tablet. To listen to music on the go, download Spotify from the Google Play or Apple app.
- While Spotify can be accessed from inside a browser, and an application installed on a desktop computer or laptop, Spotify Mobile allows users to access the Spotify library from a mobile device. This includes most mobile ecosystems including the three most popular: Android, iOS, and Blackberry World.
- Click , then Settings.
- Scroll down to Local Files and switch Show Local Files on.
- Any files in your computer's My Music and Downloads folders are automatically selected. Switch off any sources you don't want Spotify to access.
- Click ADD A SOURCE to select another folder.
- You’ll now find music from that folder in Local Files in the menu on the left.
Supported file types:
- .mp3
- .m4p (unless it contains video)
- .mp4 (if QuickTime is installed on your computer)
Note: The iTunes lossless format (M4A) is not supported.
For: Premium
- Import your local files to the Spotify desktop app (see 'Desktop' instructions above).
- Add the files to a new playlist in the desktop app:
- Click New Playlist in the menu on the left.
- Give your playlist a name and click CREATE.
- Drag and drop your local files into this playlist.
- Log in on your mobile or tablet using the same WiFi network as your desktop app.
- Select the playlist containing the local files.
- Download the playlist:
- iOS: Tap to download.
- Android: Tap Download on .

Didn’t work?
If after adding them to the desktop app you don’t see them on your mobile or tablet:
- Check you're logged in to the same account on both your desktop and mobile.
- Check your devices are connected to the same WiFi network.
- You must have the latest version of the Spotify app installed on both devices.
- Check your device's firmware is up-to-date.

Some of your tracks may be protected in restricted formats. You can install QuickTime on your desktop to allow most of these tracks to be played on Spotify.
If Spotify can’t import a file, we’ll do our best to match it with songs from the Spotify catalog. The version we match with might differ from the original.
